Approaching Treatment of the Shoulder, Elbow, Wrist, and Hand
Arm pain is an extremely common experience for many. Depending on your age, lifestyle, and life experiences, you may experience stiffness and soreness, chronic aching, limited movement, or weakness. Physical therapy for your shoulder, elbow, wrist and/or hand will vary due to the multifaceted nature of the arm.
Creating Your Treatment Plan
If you have been referred to Evolution by a physician or orthopedic specialist, your treatment plan will be approached in tandem with the recommendations of your doctor. We will do our own examination of your body, assessing your pain threshold, strength, dexterity, and range of motion.
Arm conditions can have several different symptoms, so comprehensively understanding these when creating your treatment plan is important. Questions you should be prepared to answer include:
Are you feeling any tingling or numbness?
Do certain movements hurt more than others?
Is your range of motion limited in some way?
What is hurting and how much does it hurt?
What are common physical activities that you have?
What happened to cause the pain or deficiency youāre experiencing?
Is the pain a dull ache or more acute?
Are you experiencing any weakness?
How long have you been experiencing these symptoms?
Once your physiotherapist has a clear grasp on what youāre experiencing and the extent to which itās impacting you, your treatment plan will be created. This may require treatment only once a week for a couple of months, or more intensive and more frequent rehabilitation. Therapy treatments for arm conditions will typically include:
I came into Evolution a month after surgery of a partial meniscus removal. Mars did such a great job assessing my knee and helped me progressively get back to every day life. Each week I am hitting milestones and getting closer to my 100% goal. Thanks for the help Mars!

I went to Evolution for a bit over a year to work on some hip flexor and back pain that was keeping me from exercising. Anna Lee was a phenomenal therapist who guided me through a progressive exercise regime that got me back into the gym with minimal pain. I highly recommend her and this clinic!

I went to Evolution last year for a frozen shoulder. I needed PT for a few months and had the pleasure of having Anna as my therapist. She did everything she had to do to get my shoulder back in shape. Unfortunately my other shoulder suffered a rotator cuff injury so without hesitation I took my prescription to Evolution and requested Anna. I've been working with her for two weeks and my shoulder already feels better. If you need any type of PT, Anna and Evolution are absolutely the best!

This is a positive review of my PT, Jessica, at Evolution Physical Therapy. In the October timeframe, I had aches in my butt and knee areas. The pain was so bad that I could not stand in the kitchen washing dishes for 10 minutes. Jessica gave me a full evaluation and started working on my soft tissues. Within 2 sessions, my pain was greatly remarkably reduced. I continued to see her two times a week. Jessica continued working on my angry muscles and taught me stressing and strengthening exercises at the same time. The pain I experienced is now gone. Jessica is friendly, knowledgeable, and patient. She is a true professional and has advance certification for her work. It is a pleasure to work with her.

Alex is fantastic. He listens to your problem areas and addresses them perfectly. While thereās always some pain involved with PT he knows exactly where to stop. He has helped me greatly improve after shoulder surgery and while thereās still a long road ahead I know Iām in good hands with Alex

Evolution Therapy Center in Beverly Hills is by far the best therapy center Iāve ever been to. The atmosphere is friendly and welcoming, the space is clean and spacious, and they have a wide variety of equipment to support your recovery.
The physical therapists are truly experienced and knowledgeable. I want to especially recognize Kumiko Bankson , who has been doing an amazing job helping me with my neck and arms issues and Carol Gong , who provided excellent care for my lower back.
Also, a big thank you to Barbara at the front deskāsheās always helpful and kind, making scheduling and check-ins easy.

I have had 2 physical therapy sessions at Evolution Physical Therapy & Fitness to recover upper arm movement after I broke my upper arm. My physical therapist is Anna Lee, and she is wonderful and very responsive to my needs. The sessions and exercises to target my needs have been very good, and with a few more sessions, hopefully I will regain full upper are movement. I highly recommend Anna Lee.

I went to this clinic with chronic back pain, and I had an amazing experience overall. Everyone from the front desk to the support staff was purely amazing. The pt I worked with was really great at her job, and was incredibly knowledgeable about different exercises to do for my pain. Iāve been to a lot of clinics in the la area and this was definitely the best one Iāve been to. I would absolutely recommend this clinic to anyone I know. From now on this will be the only clinic I use in the la area. First class and 5 stars in every way shape and form.

I came to Evolution with a mild knee pain. My case is more complicated because of other health issues that I have. Ana Lee is working with me and she spends the whole therapy time with me because of my other health issues. She is doing a wonderful job on me and my pain has gone 99% and I am getting stronger as times pass. This is my forth time that I am coming to Evolution for Physical Therapy and I have had excellent experience each time!
I am beyond lucky to have Kara as my physical therapist. I could not have asked for better care. Kara is THE BEST, so knowledgeable, so patient, so motivating, and truly cares about her patients development and well-being. Kara has made physical therapy something I look forward to doing, which I didnāt think was possible. Cannot recommend her enough!
